Ive been getting this problem a lot.

You take damage no probs but damage you do to enemy is drastically reduced or your shots just dont do any damage at all!

Heres a thread link with post I am trying to follow the suggestions of that may help, Im still testing :

I had omitted turning off HPET in BIOS, a short session after doing so semmed to be ok. Ill report back if its good.

This mainly affects gigabyte boards apparently but may be more widespread.

Very possibly lol.

However it is a known bug. The other night it happened 7 times, ruins the game. Only had 1 session since I changed the bios setting and it seemed ok.

Its becoming more common, its a PS2 bug. And by the sounds of it its on the increase.

forums.station.sony.com/ps2/index.php?th...103839/#post-1397008

Its caused by desync between the game client and the game server apparently. The game client uses windows clocksync detection which doesnt work right, if the client and the server dont agree weapn explosions and shots occur at the same location no damage is recorded.

The timer latency problem is confirmed by the software linked in this post and theres also a good explanation :

forums.station.sony.com/ps2/index.php?th...104633/#post-1396811

It appears the way PS2 utilises the windows cpu timer detection is in error and therefore the no damage bug occurs.

Going to try port forwards next while I try to track down what is causing the latency spikes on my PC (I dont run timing crap or mobo utilities so harder to trace) however there are some report the problem despite not seeing latency spikes :/

Found what was causing the latency spikes.

Seems there was a gigabyte utility on my system, despite thinking I just installed drivers it seems easytune had sneaked on the system with them :pinch: The same easytune utility referenced by some as causing their problems!

The timer latency checker stopped spiking into the red when I got rid of easytune.

Going for a reboot and then test, really hope this gets to the root of the problem, its doing my loaf in!!!

Problem solved, all good now, even re-enabled HPET in the BIOS.

Had several lengthy sessions without the slightest problem or lag.
