What a fantastic game, I got it last week and am really enjoying it, its real world survival type game mixed with some minecraft and S.T.A.L.K.E.R and DAYZ, its alittle hard on your own, but I have been playing with a few peeps including corruptfacta, we got ourselves a base and off to a good start, what an experience, jump on people, lets try something different, we can go raid other clans etc!
they have a mumble server too, if you wanna get into it, let me know ill get the server IP details, and we can chat on either our mumble or the servers

Not sure its right to expect to be charging money for an Alpha release.

Budget is tght right now perhaps in a week or two.

= bc2, bf3+bf4? Rust is in alpha as has less bugs than bf4 IMO but it is a lot simpler, just make sure u happy with it before u buy it please I researched it and watched a lot of YouTube vids before I took the step no pressure to come play completely up to u make a proper informed decision. The game does get frustrating if u want to play alone as people usually trigger happy and KOS, I just love these type of games

None of the Battlefield games were released as Alpha products which were purchased. You purchased the full game and got advance access -- alpha was invite only and you did not have to buy to get that (just have played previous releases).

I should have added that the advantage of purchasing the alpha version of RUST is paying a fraction of the price the finished product will be sold for. :)

True, Karl, Alpha was invite only, I was more referring to the fact that BC2, BF3 and BF4 were full products that we paid $90 odd bucks for, but were so completely buggy and glitchy and required so many server end and player end updates that it FELT like an alpha or beta release, the games were quite horrid to start with, look how many of the clan died off playing BC2, I am not dissing the BF series at all, I still enjoy playing it, just that I am happy to pay $20 for a game thats absolutely mind grabbing for me, and i get alittle of the say as to how I want it to progress, if i so wish, EA dont give a flying donkey shit, but thats just me and my opinion, thats why i added the below link earlier

yep, no idea if they will ever increase the price or just leave it at $20, but well worth it to me

I mean, further to my grumbling, RUST pretty much the EXACT opposite of how it works with Battlefield these days: with Battlefield you hoard out, like $149 to get the full package with all the bells and whistles, game comes out, but the game crashes some of the time, or the beta drivers for your GPU dont work correctly, then tuesday nights r usually a writeoff as its server maintainance night in the US, then there's YET ANOTHER 1.2 GB or 700 MB patch for the game, basically the game comes out half complete, How many times have in the last 4 years have I opened the packaging of a new BF game installed and there isn't an immediate update download?
With rust, Start game is cheap, not finished yet, but Devs r working on it, steam dloaded like a 60 MB patch in the last 2 weeks only, and its just in alpha, i can play properly- meaning all keys/game content/weaponscrafting etc , servers are always on, no real issues but for cheaters/hacks, no brainer, but its just me

I get what you are saying but RUST is a very small game compared to the BF series. BF has complicated game play and eye candy, including a back story in single player mode. RUST, from what I can tell, is more minecraft with a DAYZ twist. It would be like expecting 1080p movies to fit on a 700MB CD because some movies do, without any mention of the difference in picture or sound quality.

RUST looks like fun and frustration all rolled into one -- but I'll stick with BF and the amazing sound effects, lighting and all the eye candy. :)

The point of the thread wasent to bash EA or BF4 as its seems to have become, probably from my part, I was merely trying to keep the forums active by posting a new game coming out which I am enjoying, and did the BF4 comparison as people were asking why TF would you pay for a half finished alpha game, well basically all that ranting put into one sentence is : its just as buggy as the last 3 BF games when they were released, whether or not they are full games or not, when they came out, people are bashing a game they havent even tried based on other peoples reviews or whatever, I have both games and play then both. Ill leave it at that, I am happily playing it, good for you if you try it or good for you if you do not, have a lovely day

They have made NZ$30,000,000 in less than 2 months for a game in alpha. Crazy stuff!
