Uncle Ted created the topic: G'day.
G'day and thank you for letting me be a forum member.

Firstly let me say that I enjoyed the banter while in game last night with you fellas.

To introduce myself I'm a founding member and Elder of the Knights of Freedom Clan largely based in the States (most of our servers are there) but with a broad membership across the US, Canada, Mexico, UK and Europe. We run 4 BF2, 2 Halo, 1 CoD4 and sadly only 1 BF2142 32 slot server. We where running 2 as the other was a 16 slot Suez Titan server but due to Titan not being to popular in North America and the fact that strangely BF2142 servers are the most expensive to run on a monthly slot bases that the other servers we decided to shut it down and go back to a more varied IO map selection that is popular among the membership and guests. I've always been a Titan junkie myself and to me if you want to play IO you might as well play BF2.

Being one of only three other Aussies in the Clan and the only one who plays BF2142 I don't get as much gaming time as I used to due to now working for myself and time zone hassles. So it was nice to have a game with a bunch of guys and Admins who were willing to show some restraint on kicking/banning troublesome players at the drop of a hat and where willing to give some of them a second chance.

I look forward to talking, gaming and posting with you guys.

Ted. ;D

Yeah it's a pain now that we can't match times for games these days with the Yanks, all I seem to be doing is disciplining teenagers (bad Uncle) that give us curry in Ventrillo, swearing in text on the server and getting themselves auto banned (idiots) and looking after the needs/requests of the 2142 Council (6) on what they want to do with map rotation and banners as when I'm doing all this now their all in bed.

Having started out as a late bloomer into PC FPS with Halo back in 2005 a small group of Pommies, Yanks and myself, we wanted to create a gaming community free from bullying, swearing of which there was a lot of in Halo and also promote fun as a key ingredient (good Uncle). Our ethos is one of a family friendly atmosphere that you know your own kids would be safe in.
Sometimes though, having teenage daughters myself you just want to find a server with people over 30 and not have to hear the bragging and goading that goes with teenagers that jump into your channel.

I really enjoy teamwork on kicking down a Titan and reducing enemy ownership of silos with people who know what kit they work best in and can communicate direction and planning. I saw these qualities the other night along with some funny banter about Helen Clark while defending corridor 1 on your server, so it was all good. As far as tags, if you can get them your welcome to them but you will have to get past the shotgun of love. If you look at my knife rate it is not my favorite weapon of choice but I do use it when a situation presents itself.

We in this household tend to like Big Kev and not because he is giving us some money back from our taxes, but because we have had to suffer 11 years of tin pot Johnny Howard and his so called reformist mates that even now in opposition can't sort themselves out for knifing knifing each other in the back for all the portfolios.

But you gotta love democracy. ::)

The only thing that comes to mind would be Captain William Bligh who was part of the famous mutiny of HMS Bounty, who was cast adrift in open sea and after getting back to old Blighty was given Governorship of New South Wales from 1806 to 1810. He was affected again when the New South Wales Corp had him overthrown again (poor bastard) during the Rum Rebellion. After this he was promoted and sent off to an early retirement in the country although the Admiralty would have preferred a different country. :D
